PHOTM Nominations
August 2002

Mike Hasko

"You know, I was thinking the other day. Scary, yes. Pezheads is a very big part of collecting. Imagine collecting without it. There are many members who contribute so much to Pezheads. One of the greatest contributions are those posts that keep that family feel on Pezheads. There's one on our List that does that in so many crazy ways. Every one of his posts either has me in hysterics or tapping my feet to the rhythym, and always scratching my head wondering what kind of meds he's taking. But these posts are, and have become, a Pezheads tradition. It's traditions like these that keep Pezheads going strong and keeps our Pez Family together. There is nothing more important to our hobby than that. You all know who I'm talking about by now. I would like to nominate Mike Hasko! (look, another PEG, Mike)"

Janet Fisher

"Hello I am one of the "lurkers" that doesn't post very much however when it comes to the kindness and generosity of people I will speak up. There are several Pez people I owe much thanks too for the past few months but this month I would like to nominate JANET FISHER!!!!!!! Awhile back the list was discussing their collection in numbers..well since I am a new collector my numbers are low and JANET FISHER took it upon herself to help with my collection. I received a wonderful letter along with a nice package to help my collection. Her thoughtfulness and compassion inspired me and I realized that the Pez collectors are not just a "group" but more of a family. Again I would like to nominate JANET FISHER For PHOTM!!!"

Juli Kraft

"In the past few weeks or so I haven't posted much to the list but I wanted to take the opportunity to give a special shout out to someone I feel truly embodies the epitome of what "Pezhead" means. (drum roll please...) Juli Kraft!!! I have had the pleasure of interacting with several members of this list on a limited basis due to my work schedule and home loan...but my Pez enthusiasm always leads me here during special times of the day to peek in on those who love so well what my family and I cherish...OUR COLLECTIONS! Juli has been an immeasurable help to our collection. She treated us to European pez which started a phenomenon instantly that cannot be squelched and then went a further step in surprising me with what was truly a generous addition to our collection...OUR FIRST N/F! He's in the middle of the front row of our grand stand and every time I look at his bright yellow beak and little blue hat and beautiful SHOE fitting (which was also included in her package x 3!!!) which keeps his sparkling blue stem from toppling I am amazed at the level of commitment and dedication to this hobby that she has shown us all here in my household. Always helpful and going out of your way to make the hobby better for other collectors is what I think this award is all about...so Juli...Good luck...and know that you have many friends here in Ohio who are grateful for your generosity! That's my nominee..best of luck to everyone... "

Lou Rice

"Hi Folks, I waited to make this nomination thinking 4 others would beat me to it but they didn't I would like to nominate someone that ran a contest this past month. Not to short Jill Cohen who put on a grest convention, but this guy did the most generous act I've seen since I joined this list.....not once, not twice, not even three times but four times he sent out HUGE boxes of PEZ to 4 new collectors....the only conditons were they were new to collecting and weren't attending a convention. When I asked him if it was OK to enter someone that's on the list his only comment was he was just interested that they went to someone that wouldn't have a chance for them otherwise. I'm not what it cost him for postage, but postage on a 7-10 lb. box isn't cheap no matter where you are sending it with any type of service. I think each box had 17 to 25 items in it which I'm sure every winner was tickled to get. I didn't see a thank you sent to the group, but I'm sure each and every winner sent one privatelty, if not, you still have time. I'm sure he could have put those on ebay and sold each one for a pretty penny plus had the winner pay for postage. I'm not sure what else he could of done to help a new collector unless he went over himself and help set them up. I nominate Lou Rice for PHOTM for August."
