PHOTM Nominations
March 2003
Joe Pavarati
"I nominate Joe Pavarati "GOT DANK?"If you look at the past year of posts he rings in more than most.Joe always has good questions that spark conversations. He's also very quick to respond to questions.I think we would all agree it is people like Joe that keep the list alive when we have been occupied with our other lives. He has been nominated before ,but never won.Let's show our thanks by making him PHOTM."
Megan Moore
"I would like to nominate a Pezhead who is full of DAILY enthusiasm for this hobby! Megan Moore: CallMeMegs@aol.com No doubt you have read her numerous posts to the list with information about the upcoming sports promo's, set-up a temporary webpage for the list to view the photos of the new 2003 pez coming out, Sonic Drive-In Pez Promo giveaway this coming summer, etc. When she learns of something pezzy, she is always willing to share the info. and source. She has been nominated before by other Pezheads she has helped, she definitely deserves the "clock". Megan has been instrumental in the founding of the Cincinnati Pezheads Group and initiated the famous "Party Favor" giveaways for the Cleveland Convention!! She carries a wealth of pez information in her head about stems, patents, variances, colors, misfits, etc. IT is amazing! But what I find more amazing is her giving SPIRIT and ENTHUSIASM for this hobby on an EVERYDAY level. She even spent 5 hours one time helping me sort, organize & catalog my collection in Rubbermaid bins, and had to drive a long distance to do so!"
John LaSpina
"I don't usually nominate a person for PHOTM because, as list host, I feel that I should stay somewhat impartial when it comes to list activities. However, I am making an exception this month. As a list moderator, I'm used to seeing new members subscribe to PEZheads only to send sales lists to a target audience. More times than not, these same new members do not get involved in our community or share any of their experience or knowledge of the hobby. A few months ago, we had the good fortune of having a well established PEZ dealer join our list. What sets this person apart from the other newly subscribed dealers is that he *did* get involved on the list, and has been active in sharing his experience and knowledge with the rest of us. On several topics of late, I have learned quite a great deal about several dispensers including the black faced Santa C and the Made in Hong Kong stickers. In addition to this, my nomination this month has been active in our hobby for many, many years. He is both a collector and a long time seller. He is also a part of the team that puts together a yearly price guide that a large percentage of PEZ collectors use as both a checklist of what dispensers have been made, and a price guide to use to determine dispenser values. His participation in this hobby has helped shape what PEZ collecting has become today. But, as I mentioned above, it is his participation on this list and his willingness to share what he has learned from his many years of collecting and selling that I feel makes us all better informed collectors. And that is why this month I would like to nominate for PHOTM..... John LaSpina."
Misty and Todd McAllister
"I would like to nominate Misty and Todd McAllister as PEZheadsOTM March 2003, they put in such a lot of work as moderators and are both GREAT PEZfriends + I think their www.McPEZ.com is one of the greatest PEZ websites in the net, I love seeing the pictures of all the PEZ stuff that I do not have."
