ElmwoodHistoric Elmwood
Historic Elmwood is a Victorian home built in 1895
on a 20 acre tract of land along the Park River. Built by C.A.M. Spencer, one of Grafton's early residents, it has served as a home to 5 families, all of whom have had a part in local and state history. The last owners were Luther and Mary Nancy Williamson. They purchased the home in 1945 and their large family occupied it until 1986 when they deeded it to the State of North Dakota, Parks and Recreation Department. Elmwood was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Grafton Parks and Recreation own the title to Historic Elmwood and it is manage by a local Board of Directors. The house and grounds have been restored and is rented for meetings, birthdays, anniversaries, small weddings and showers. The kitchen is well equipped and the house is beautifully furnished in the Victorian manner.
Rental fees are determined by the number involved but start at $50 per day.
